We had prepared ourselves for such a hard summer, knowing surgery was scheduled and not knowing what recovery would look like. God has blessed us so immensely. He’s sweet and gentle with us when we need it the most. Carter has had the best summer so far. From a better than expected surgery, a lightning fast recovery, to a transition of care that totally exceeded our expectations.
He is cathing completely on his own, and has become more independent in other areas as a result. It’s been so cool to watch him grow up through this change in care.
Some of the fun things we’ve done this summer....
We’ve taken a trip to Lexington
Swam with friends
Celebrated our great nation
Went to the lake and on a boat for the first time
We’ve spent summer nights training with the football team
And now he’s at Summer Blast getting his worship on
We still have a family beach trip coming up, and we’re expectant that it will be a great time of resting and recharging.
For all of you who have prayed for us during this season - thank you! We felt every one of them. We can’t wait to see what the next season looks like for our family, as C starts 2nd grade and I move into a new job (still at DISA). We know it will be great no matter what, because His plans are good and we’ll be doing it together.
